Announcing the Premium Channel

WOPG is happy to announce the launch of an exciting new broadcast service: the Premium Channel. In 2012, this channel will feature up to 50 full-length, first run videos of Prem Rawat speaking at various events around the world.

The Premium Channel will be similar to WOPG’s now discontinued LifeStream in many ways, but different in others.

What’s similar will be the high quality production values.

What’s different will be the extended length of the broadcasts, the quick turnaround time, and the way in which the content will be accessed.

That last difference? The Premium Channel will be a Pay-Per-View service.

Why Pay-Per-View? The rising costs of producing 50 full-length, broadcast quality videos has confronted us with two choices: (1) stop offering streaming video of recent events or (2) charge a nominal fee to fund the service.

We’ve decided to go with the second option — the Pay-Per-View option — while doing our best to keep the cost as reasonable as possible.

The Premium Channel will not be the only way, however, you can access videos on the website. Previous Words of Peace broadcasts and excerpts from Prem Rawat’s past events will continue to be made available at no charge in our steadily growing Video On-demand Library.

We realize that some of you may have questions or concerns about the shift to Pay-Per-View. This we understand. Please feel free to read the FAQ section below for more information.

If you want to help fund the effort to continue broadcasting Prem Rawat’s message to the world you are invited to become a sponsor. Small and large donations are equally appreciated. If you are already supporting this effort, we are very grateful for your generosity and encourage you to continue doing so.

How much does this cost and what do I get?

These videos are offered through a Pay-Per-View plan:

  • 1 episode for $8.00 — episode expires one month from the date of purchase
  • 10 different episodes for $65.00 — all episodes expire three months from the date of purchase
  • 20 different episodes for $120.00 — all episodes expire six months from the date of purchase

If you have already purchased an episode package, please be aware that accessing this video will count as one episode: you can watch it as many times as you like until your purchase expires. From $3.99, you can also download the video or audio through the online store.

LifeStreams were free. Why does this cost money?

While the LifeStreams were free, the cost to produce them was not. The effort to create high-quality streaming video from Prem Rawat's global events and get them onto the website quickly is expensive. We may be a non-profit organization, but we still need to pay attention to the bottom line. When costs become greater than revenues, something’s gotta give. And in this case, it means either discontinuing the service or charging a nominal fee for streaming video.

I'm already donating to WOPG. Now you’re asking me to pay to view videos online?

First off, a big thanks for donating to WOPG. It's only because of donations like yours that WOPG can exist. That being said, the costs of producing videos continues to be expensive and we are compelled to find sustainable ways of funding this effort. Pay-Per-View has become our best bet.

I thought this message was free. Why should I have to pay to listen to Prem Rawat?

The message is free and will always be free. There are costs, however, associated with having a website and producing high-quality media. This effort needs to be funded. When costs are greater than donations, it's time to find another way that works. Enter Pay-Per-View. But remember, the website also offers free videos, as well. So if it's too expensive for you, there are lots of other videos on the site at absolutely no cost.

Will streaming event footage ever be free again?

Maybe. It’s possible. That would be great. It all depends on the number of donations, how many skilled volunteers step up to help, and how efficient WOPG can be in its ongoing attempt to deliver quality media.
