“This existence that you have, this life that you have, despite all the problems, is beautiful, wonderful,” says Prem Rawat. “Look at the desert. When it rains, mysteriously, even the desert holds in it the promise of beautiful life, of delicate flowers.”

Prem Rawat says, “We allow ourselves to be busy, but we never ask ourselves, ‘What are you busy with?’ You’re busy with your career. You’re busy with your life. You’re busy trying to make some dream come true. But where is this headed? How does this all end?”

Prem Rawat says that wherever he goes, people want peace. But when he asks what is peace, “everybody has their own version of peace, because everybody is looking at it from a totally different angle. Peace,” he says, “begins with every single human being.”

Prem Rawat talks about how we are the only ones who can make ourselves happy. “Let it be that I know myself, that of all the people I have tried to understand,” he says, “that I understand myself, because I want the rain of peace, of understanding to come.”

“To understand the ultimate truth, … you have to be utterly simple because truth is simple,” says Prem Rawat. “How simple?” he asks. “With the heart of a child. What does a child have that you don’t have? Simplicity.”

Prem Rawat talks about the miracle of life. “You want to know how to recognize a miracle? Then understand that today was a miracle,” he says. “And, if tomorrow comes, that is going to be a miracle. And the coming and going of this breath is a miracle.”

“Your life is associated with your jobs, with the things that happen around you. That is not your life,” says Prem Rawat. “The core is you. You exist. And because you exist, there are certain things that also exist. And at the hub is your existence, your life.”;

“What kind of road is life?” asks Prem Rawat. “Some parts are hilly; some are flat; some have a nice, gentle slope; and some way too much slope, slippery,” he says. “Walk. The key is not to measure how many miles you have come, but to enjoy every single step you take.”

Prem Rawat talks about the journey of life. “It’s about this life, this existence—not an idea, not a theory, not rules, not some printed pages, but about you and me. The most incredible thing is taking place: you are alive … your existence, your being on the face of this earth.”

“Is peace a manifestation of something that happens inside a human being, or is peace something on the outside only?” Prem Rawat asks. “Where does the desire for peace come from? Is peace innate to every human being? This, in my opinion, is the pivotal question.”
