The EHDMI Team

A group of more than 230 volunteers in Latin America has developed the project “EHDMI” in order to make DVDs and written material about Prem Rawat’s message easily available in Spanish via the Internet for the first time. The volunteers behind the project say that the objective of EHDMI (Equipo Hispano Distribución Materiales Introductorios) is to increase the availability of the message in all Spanish-speaking countries, even in small villages and remote areas.

At the end of 2009, such easy access to Spanish materials had already become a much–appreciated resource all over South America for volunteers wanting to host local introductory events.

On October 26, 2009, the inmates of the Anexo Chorrillos Penitentiary Center in Lima, Peru, were first introduced to Prem Rawat’s message. Since then, EHDMI has continued distributing DVDs and materials to the prison, and so far 117 people have been introduced to the message, and 12 inmates have requested the Keys.

Maritza Espinoza, who helps with the distribution of introductory material and the Keys, was one of the pioneers of the team. She explains that the people who formed EHDMI hoped to begin to bring together people from all the countries in the South American region.

Hispanic fusion

“Looking at the possibilities of how to develop this proposal,” Maritza explained, “an even broader initiative arose to include all Hispanic communities of Spanish-speaking people who would be interested. So we decided to open a new web page: http://man-of-peace.ning.com/, where materials could be posted. Slowly but surely, the Keys were incorporated with the help of volunteers from Venezuela.

xfoto_5w.jpg“To be part of this work is like a dream come true,” she continued. “So far we have 230 participants from the communities of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Ecuador, El Salvador, and Guatemala, as well as ‘the Hispanic Group’ (Hispanic people living outside their native countries) including individuals now living in the Dominican Republic, Germany, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Senegal, Uruguay, USA, and Venezuela.”

About 1,400 people have begun listening to Maharaji’s message through this group’s efforts. Over 50 have started the Keys process. Maritza says, “We trust that the enthusiasm, inspiration, and passion for this work will keep on growing every day and that, with the help of all those involved in the project, the message of Prem Rawat will reach many more Hispanic people around the world.”

Growing initiatives

This new opportunity to get materials in Spanish has already led to a series of events in the northern part of South America. This included participation in the Celebration for Peace March event in Lima; a public event at Universidad Metropolitana of Paraguay; an event organized by Elio Santana, the only student of Prem Rawat in Manta, Ecuador (1015 km. from Quito); and two events in México—one in Tamaulipas, a town about 500 km south of the USA, and one in Tampico. All were small events that local volunteers were able to organize with the use of the introductory material in Spanish made available by EHDMI. It is just a beginning—with extraordinary potential.

  1. This is great news. I hope they know about the new print materials in Spanish available on this site, in the downloads section. They are called Articles, and were developed originally for students in schools, prisons etc. They are a free download and great as handouts in seminars, classes and introductory events.
  2. Wow how amazing, must join in. Sounds wonderful, feels great.
  3. I like the idea of a Celebration for Peace. Maybe we could have one here too. What excellent news!
  4. Congratulations team for all the wonderful work and initiative to bring these dvds in Spanish to so many people;. I particularly applaud the effort in prisons. May your efforts meet with the greatest success in 2010. Thanks for your heartwarming message. Eleni Pouliezou
  5. Wonderful!!! Don't stop
  7. WAY TO GO !
  8. I am glad to know that this Hispanic Outreach Team reaches those distant and remote places where it is very difficult to have cableTV or Internet and that they are able to contact those people thirsty to hear his message for the first time. It is for this reason that I want to congratulate EHDMI volunteers for this inspirational work, finding isolated communities, villages or small towns (far from large cities where the best conditions for service are) this possibility to start a service task supported by EHDMI, service sustained over time. Thanks a lot: Osvaldo Dorio.
