On Friday, June 17, 2011, Maharaji arrived in Brighton for a two-day event marking the anniversary of his initial trip from India to the West. It had been exactly forty years since he had arrived in London, a child hoping to extend his message of peace to people living beyond the borders of his native country. During his talk, he spoke plentifully about this time of uncertainty, the challenges that were faced and the message that had driven him to take such a leap of faith.

Members of the audience also had the opportunity to speak with him.

Here are some excerpts from his talk:

The world is going around in its belief systems. But this isn’t about beliefs. Knowledge isn’t about beliefs. Knowledge is about knowing — knowing what is real. Welcoming 'known' into your life. Welcoming an experience into your life. Not ideas, not concepts, not, 'Ahhh, more of the same.'

When our celebration begins, we celebrate for the rest of our lives. Those people who have Knowledge, who practice Knowledge, they began celebrating the day that they received Knowledge and they have the opportunity to celebrate every day for the rest of their lives. It's not just one thing — to have Knowledge, to have a master, to have this breath, to have this kindness, to have this love, to have this guidance.

There will be a master. There will be a student. There will be a heart. So far we are alive these things are always going to be there. And there’s always going to be this magic that happens when we come together, face to face.

No pude acudir al Evento en Reino Unido pero si al de Barcelona en mi país. Viene muy a menudo. Es un placer. Conozco el mensaje de Maharaji desde principios de los 70 y hoy en día no deja de sorprenderme y enamorarme un poquito más cada encuentro con él y con su mensaje. Gracias.

I practice this Knowledge but I always drift. Once again Maharaji brought me back to that place where I feel totally content and knowing there's nothing else I want to be doing and nowhere else I want to be, it took him about 2 seconds. I love having this Knowledge but the very best experience in it is being in his presence and taking in his wisdom.
