On a late afternoon in central London, around 2,000 people congregated in the lobbies of the Hilton London Metropol Hotel hoping to listen to Prem Rawat speak. The event was only one of two in England taking place that summer — the other would be in the far northern city of Newcastle the following day — and, as a result, had drawn large numbers of people, many of whom didn't have tickets but hoped to get in all the same. In the end, space was found for about 1,500 people, who packed the long, red-carpeted hall.

Here are some excerpts from his talk:

There are two kinds of people on this earth: those who are perfectly satisfied in simply believing, and those few people who are only satisfied if they know. And what does knowing mean?  It means two things: that not only do you have the answer, but you understand it. That’s the clincher. 

If you want to have gratitude in your life, first you must have gratification. Without gratification, you cannot have gratitude. What does gratification mean? One of the meanings of gratification is to be fulfilled. Only when you are fulfilled will you have gratitude.

Search for that one thing that always has been inside of you and always will be inside of you till the very last day. No questions asked. The avenues that go to the heart are the avenues of clarity, the avenues of understanding, the avenues of sincerity. Those are the avenues you need to be on. And the search, in a snap, will be over. Because what you’re looking for always has and always will be inside of you.
